Real History: The Geography of the Ice Age

This short video gives a great overview of the geography of the planet during the last Ice Age.

    1. It would be fun to explore some of the other parts of the world in a game. Ice Age Europe with Neanderthals!

    2. It would! Unfortunately for fans of Doggerland, though, it's pretty much covered by glacier the whole time, and vanishes underwater around the time the glacier retreats, as I understand it. Still, the expanded Iberian and Italian peninsulas look remarkable, as do the large sections of the Mediterranean that are open meadows between two lakes, basically. I'm also interested in the greened North Africa region. There are fringe archaeologists who put the Sphinx, at least, as dating around the end of the last ice age due to the apparent rain wear along the sides of the base. And fringe archaeology leads to awesome fantasy!

While we're talking other regions, I want to make Nan Madol on Pohnpei into an ice age ruin. It is partially sunken, after all. If our Sundalanders are accomplished sailors, as I think they should be, it even makes sense.
